Candidate Bios (edited for space):
Moe Jamil is an attorney, teacher and advocate. He sits on the board of Russian Hill Neighbors and has served on the boards of SF Heritage, Union Square Fdn and Middle Polk Neighborhood Assn. He co-founded the Van Ness Corridor Neighborhoods Council, which focuses on improving outcomes relating to planning, land use, public safety and transportation. Moe is a 10-year resident of D3; he and his wife are raising their two young children there.
Sharon Lai is a dedicated public servant, Chinese woman, and mother of two young kids. She is running for office to give voice to District 3 residents, particularly working families, who want to see common sense change for their neighborhoods and city. For close to 2 decades, her commitment to serving San Francisco, particularly the underserved communities has been clear. She has been a city worker, served as a City Commissioner leading on public safety, delivering housing, tackling homelessness and worked as an economic recovery leader in San Francisco.
Eduard Navarro is an urban designer, international entrepreneur, innovator and leader with over two decades of global experience in finance technology, investments and city building. Eduard successfully established and expanded an alternative investments firm in Spain, significantly growing its real estate portfolio primarily with US capital.
Danny Sauter is a D3 community organizer who has lived in North Beach for the past 10 years. He leads Neighborhood Centers Together, which supports Cameron House in Chinatown and TEL HI Neighborhood Center. He is a board member and former president of NB Neighbors. Danny has started two small businesses in District 3, including the North Beach Farmers Market, which he has helmed for 7 years.
Matt Susk is a 3rd generation San Franciscan with deep roots in the community he loves. Susk believes in public safety, cutting costs, and investing in our local economy. He is a proud graduate of SFPD’s Community Police Academy, where he learned about all aspects of SFPD, & is Safety Chair on the Russian Hill Neighbors board. Susk spent a decade in the private sector, advising government pension plans, founding a successful laundry business and developing innovative financing solutions to turn 1000s of renters into homeowners.
